Now I know with this group of people I'm not gonna get any support with my music BUT I am here to defend it. There is a DIFFERENCE between Hip-Hop and Rap.
Hip-Hop: MC's that are intelligent and lyrically brilliant with tight beats and they can "Move the Crowd."
Rappers: The "pop" that you are more familiar with. The violence, sex, drugs, (even though rockers do the same thing) that pollute the concept of hip-hop.
I want to hear what people think about the difference.

Well, tbh I don't really pay much attention to rap, except for ICP. And I hate hip hop. So idk man.

The only rap I bother to watch or listen to is parody rap, usually the more creative ones like this one:

There is a difference - but that's not it. Hip-hop is a musical style. Rap is a vocal style. You could have a hip-hop song with no rapping, and you could have a rap song that wasn't hip-hop. This: www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-wtVhexiEAfor example. There's rapping, but it sure ain't hip hop.

that's not rap. and it's not metal either. Hip-hop is lyrical, Rap is more about beats and music.

Grrr...first three links are "not available in my country due to copyright restrictions."
What's the Hollywood Undead song, if not metal? Metal is quite a diverse genre (as evidenced by its myriad subdivisions). It certainly sounds like metal to me. And the guy is rapping, some of the time at least. Unlike Soulja Boy in your fourth link above. How can that be rap when he's not even rapping?

Personally I don't know or care about the difference. It's all obnoxious racket to me.
Thomas, just use a proxy.

"It's all obnoxious racket to me." Well what is metal then?
I'm fine with Classic Rock it's just heavy metal and screamo I have a problem with.
